: If you accept that humans communication capability comes from "evolution", you cannot say that the primal cause of humanity is its communication capability.
: And why is that? Do you believe that evolution could be this primary cause then? But before this communication capability developed, there was no humanity. Just apes. Evolution was around for millions of years without humanity. Hence, it is the communication that made the humanity possible and not evolution.
: It is my belief that the primal cause is "groping about" and the not explainable strenght that pushes every "molecules bags" to grope about.
: This gropping about has a name: it is called communication. Can you imagine someone gropping about all alone? That would be spritual masturbation, not gropping about. Knowledge only became possible through communication. Knowledge IS communication. It is the urge for communication that pushes every "molecules bags" to grope about.
//// Re: we are not here to negate the importance of communication....
just to insist on the fact that communication either for humans or for animals, apes included, are means to the rather primal activity : groping about.
indeed, human communication, taking advantage of a much more powerful CPU and Memory, is a very important factor,
but, since it takes place within a groping scheme, is neither free nor perfect, nor the objectives, it remains " means", that is rare and costly (in groping time).
