I was simply wondering if anyone had considered the essay
"Basic Banalities",
I've only read part one(That is the first section, not simply
the first paragraph), but I noticed that Vaniegm declares
Transcendence as one of the things which must be discarded
in order for the revolution to come about.
However, he then continues to describe various levels of "supercession"
I suppose my question is: How is one supposed to effectively remove
the symbolic or mytical desire to transcend while at the same time
trying to rise society as a whole above it's "spectacular cretinism"
Thanks.
